Join the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (CEPE) for an evening of creative explorations by Luther College students at 404: Not Found in Area X, a pop-up gallery event inspired by the haunting moods and themes of Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach writings.
On April 4 from 5-7 p.m. at The CEPE (Olin 214), you will experience an eclectic collection of student works that engage with radical transformation, the unknown, the uncanny, the permeable, the weird & the eerie–with ecological and climatological changes, with deep focus on birds & fungi and other nonhuman earthlings, with borders and zones that shape our capacities to comprehend and decide how to be alive with others.
The gallery will feature visual art, written works, film, and live performances.
Please wander, reflect, and connect with the creative students of our community.
Jeff VanderMeer will visit campus on April 22 and 23, so this event is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the themes that define his work before hearing from the author himself.
Drop in and out anytime from 5-7p.m., bathe in the atmosphere, and wonder if you can ever really leave Area X.
