Join us for a special Children’s Book Week storytime at the Phelps Park Bandshell on Monday, May 5th, from 3:30–4:30 PM—and get ready to meet a Wild Thing in real life! We’ll be reading Where the Wild Things Are and other favorite stories that celebrate imagination, adventure, and the joy of reading.
Kids can enjoy stories, activities, coloring pages, and snacks while celebrating the magic of books in a beautiful outdoor setting. Plus, every child in attendance will receive a free book, courtesy of the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation!
We’re also thrilled to welcome our friends from the Decorah Public Library, who will be on hand to share their 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program—an exciting way to inspire early literacy and family reading time.
This free event is sponsored by the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation, with support from Dragonfly Books. Ideal for ages 2–8, but all are welcome! Parental supervision is recommended, especially for younger children, to ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone.
