Don Kemp Memorial Lecture in Social Work: Jaye Hobart ’11

April 2, 2024

Social work is more than a practice and profession, and expands beyond the oversimplification of direct service. Social work shows up in many spaces and includes mezzo- and macro-level work such as nonprofit management, policy work, and advocacy. This lecture will highlight a non-traditional social worker’s journey in the nonprofit sector.
The lecture, held in memoriam of Luther’s former social work program director Don Kemp, is open to the public with no charge for admission.
Jaye Hobart received her M.A. from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from Luther College. Among her many board affiliations, Jaye serves the HANA Center and Korean Adoptees of Chicago and is a member of the API Affinity Group of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Chicago Chapter.
