Dr. Gereon Kopf: Confronting our Unwillingness to Encounter the “Other”

Dr. Gereon Kopf will present the Women’s History Month opening lecture, entitled Confronting our Unwillingness to Encounter the “Other.” Dr. Kopf is currently developing a new approach to philosophy called “multi-entry philosophy,” a non-essential philosophy of mind, and an ethics based on a non-essentialist conception of identity formation.

Dr. Kopf earned his is PhD from Temple University and is professor of religion and identity studies at Luther College. He is also adjunct professor in theology and religious studies at the University of Iceland, and a research fellow at the International Institute for Philosophy at Tõyõ University.

He is an author and editor of many articles and publishes widely on Japanese, Buddhist, and global philosophy.
