The Creation Care Team at First Lutheran Church will show the film, Common Ground, Sat., January 25, at 3 p.m. in the church’s Fireside Room. All are welcome.
The documentary explores the connection between farming, public policy, and disease. It profiles a hopeful and uplifting movement of farmers who are using alternative “regenerative” models of agriculture that could balance the climate, save our health, and stabilize America’s economy –before it’s too late. The film hopes to rally for the transition of 100 million more acres of U.S. land to regenerative agriculture by tripling the reach and impact of the filmmakers’ earlier film, Kiss the Ground.
After the film, Luther College professor emeritus Jim Martin-Schramm will lead a short discussion. This event is free and open to the public. The film would be appropriate for children ages 11 and up. First Lutheran Church is located at 604 West Broadway in Decorah.
