Good Shepherd Wednesday Evening Lenten Service, featuring Rev. Melissa Bills

5:30-6:00pm

  • All are welcome at Lenten Evening Services at 5:30 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Sanctuary on each of the five Wednesdays in Lent: March 12, 19, 26, and April 2 and 9
  • Mourning Into Dancing: Prayers for Healing and Wholeness will be the liturgy for these services. It is a setting of Psalm 30:2, 11-12 created by Benjamin Splichal Larson, who composed the text and music.
  • Pastor April Larson, Good Shepherd’s current Interim Pastor, will lead the services, with five members of Good Shepherd’s community providing a reflection on “Theology of the Cross”. On March 26 Rev. Melissa Bills will offer the message.
  • Melissa Bills currently serves as Director of College Ministries and College Pastor at Luther College. She is an author of liturgical texts, devotional materials, and intergenerational curricula for Augsburg Fortress and for Illustrated Ministry. She is a native of the Chicago suburbs, a graduate of St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) and Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton, NJ), and has served congregations in the Metro Chicago and Northeastern Iowa Synods (ELCA).
