Have you ever wished you knew what wild plants growing in our midst could be made into simple home remedies? If so, our upcoming class series, Wildcrafting for First Aid and Simple Home Remedies, is for you. Each month, we will wander the woods and fields together, gathering herbs, barks, roots and flowers and putting them to good use in a variety of tried-and-true remedies. Not only will we learn well the pertinent particulars of the plants we are studying, but also take home each month a remedy, such as tincture or balm or ingredients for tea that we have crafted together in the field. Attend the entire series and you will have filled a shelf in your pantry with all manner of your own homemade, wildcrafted remedies!
Don’t miss out on the first installation of this series which will occur on Decorah’s beautiful Trout Run Trail on Sunday March 13th from 10am-12. For this class, we will be harvesting the buds of eastern Cottonwood trees and the bark of Black Willow—two of nature’s most useful pain relievers!
Other upcoming classes in this series include:
April 16th: Stinging Nettle
May 29: Plantain
June 26: Elderflower
July 24: Yarrow
August 28th: Elderberry
September 25th: Black cherry bark
