Winter Walking Field Trips

Lace up your boots and grab your winter gear as the Decorah Public Library, in collaboration with Upper Explorerland and Winneshiek County Conservation, invites 3rd through 8th graders on an exciting series of Winter Walking Field Trips. This hands-on program promises a blend of winter fun and physical activity, featuring activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding (weather permitting). 


  • January 8, 15, 22, 29 
  • Grades 3-8 
  • 3:15-4:15pm 

Each week, participants will explore a new destination around town, offering a mix of outdoor activities like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding. The program aims to encourage physical activity, foster a love for the outdoors, and provide a unique and engaging winter experience.
