Dragonfly Books is thrilled to announce our participation in the 12th annual Independent Bookstore Day, a nationwide celebration of independent bookstores and the passionate readers who support them.
To build excitement for the big day, Dragonfly Books is hosting a weeklong Spirit Week beginning Monday, April 21. Each day features a playful theme and an exclusive in-store promotion:
- Monday – Silly Sock Day: Buy two, get one free on all in-stock socks.
- Tuesday – Plaid Day: Wear plaid and receive 20% off your purchase.
- Wednesday – Bookstore Shirt Day: Take 20% off all in-stock bookstore T-shirts, including Raygun designs.
- Thursday – Book Character Dress-Up Day: Dress as your favorite book character and enter to win a $50 Dragonfly Books gift card—one entry for tagging us on social media, and another for visiting the store in costume.
- Friday – Customer Appreciation Day: Double rewards points for Frequent Buyer Club members. New customers are encouraged to sign up in-store and start earning points right away!
The main event takes place on Saturday, April 26, when Dragonfly Books will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with over 15 exclusive items available for purchase, giveaways for both children and adults, and fun for all ages. From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Twisted by Mariann will be on site offering complimentary balloon twisting, and attendees can participate in a round of Banned Books Bingo. As a special one-day-only promotion, customers will receive 20% off everything they can fit into a limited-edition Independent Bookstore Day tote bag.

Independent Bookstore Day was launched in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the vital role of independent bookstores across the country. Held annually on the last Saturday of April, this year’s event features over 1,200 participating bookstores nationwide.
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization dedicated to supporting independent booksellers and strengthening the book industry.
