Agora Arts feature contemporary art and fine craft by over 250 American and Canadian artists. We offer the highest quality collection of handcrafted work in the upper midwest, including gorgeous jewelry by over 50 different artists such as Holly Yashi, Saundra Messinger, and Alexis Bittar. Pottery, sculpture, wood items, glass, metalwork, and prints fill the gallery. We carry many books by local authors including Bob Wolf, David Faldet, and Bob Hunt.

Started in 1992 by Decorah native and Luther grad Gail Bolson-Magnuson, Agora has a reputation for consistently introducing new and exciting handcrafted work to the gallery. Many of the most recognized artists in the industry trust Agora Arts to promote and sell their work.
Other featured artists include furniture by Sticks, Form & Reform, and Dust; pottery by Joe Christensen, Nate & Hallie Evans and Natural Elements; and jewelry by Watchcraft, Adajio, Sergio Lub, Liza Schtromberg and Mashka.

Agora Arts are the hometown gallery of StoryPeople by Brian Andreas and carry the largest collection of StoryPeople prints, sculptures, and books in the country. Agora Arts are located in beautiful downtown Decorah within the historic Hotel Winneshiek and are open 7 days a week.

ArtHaus is Decorah’s home for the arts bringing visual, performing, and literary art together and offering creative programs for all ages.  Visit our website for more information and a complete calendar of classes, workshops, and events.

Now hosting programs at 107 West Broadway, ArtHaus offers professional instruction and in visual, performing, and literary arts to students of all ages, abilities, and interests, from age two to adult. ArtHaus also hosts free and low-cost events throughout the year such as art fairs, gallery openings, and poetry slams.

Blue Heron Knittery offers knitting, crocheting, and other fiber arts supplies, including yarn, needles, patterns, stitch markers, books, magazines, etc.

We offer classes at all levels and have drop-in-and-knit sessions where you can get help from each other. If you don't see a product or class that you're looking for, give us a call and come by the shop. You'll find us at 300 West Water St, Decorah, IA 52101. We also display and sell local artwork.

Cardboard Robot is a retail maker store. We cultivate ideas and products that channel the inner builder, tinkerer, and artist in everyone.

We carry art supplies, bulk paper, STEM learning kits, electronics and coding products, and robots.

We carry products and materials that you can use to make things. Our shop is a clubhouse of ideas, tools, and knowledge. Come and see!

Linda Wolfs is a self-taught Artist with over 40 years of experience making handcrafted Ceramics, Garden Art, Gnome/Nisse Art, Ceramic Bisque, Swarovski Jewelry, and hand-sewn Ornaments. All of Linda's unique artwork is original.

She gives great attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in every piece she creates. All of her Ceramic pieces are made from clay she mixes, pours, and fires in her kilns. Each piece is then hand-painted by Linda.

Each of Linda's Ceramic pieces is one-of-a-kind creations. Linda also has a wide variety of unpainted Ceramic Bisque pieces for those customers who prefer to paint their own. Custom orders are always welcome.

Inspire(d) Media is a very small, very independent media company based in Decorah, Iowa. We print Inspire(d) Magazine and also offer a variety of freelance services through our company. Aryn and Benji Nichols founded Inspire(d) in September of 2007 â?" shortly after they got married (!) and now have grown to print 15,000 magazines quarterly. Itâ?™s a two-person show at Inspire(d) Headquarters: Aryn is the editor and graphic designer and Benji heads up the ad sales department, but weâ?™d be nothing without our fabulous contributors who come from different areas across the Driftless Region and occasionally beyond.

Luther College is an undergraduate liberal arts institution of about 2,500 students affiliated with the Lutheran Church (ELCA).

Academics

New Minowa Players is Decorah's community theater. They provide several musicals and plays throughout the year for all to enjoy. Grab a ticket and grab a seat at this cozy and quaint 46-seat auditorium. Get back to what theater is all about and watch the scripts come to life.

New Minowa Players is an incredibly active community theatre. This fall begins NMP's 36th year of bringing live and local theatre to the Decorah area. Based in Decorah, the community theatre organization began presenting shows in 1975 and since then the has presented over 120 straight plays, musicals, reviews, cabarets, and melodramas in a variety of locations, including the recently established New Minowa Players Theatre, located at 906 South Mill St.

The New Minowa Players are always looking for new faces! Whether you are a performer, technician, designer, or audience member willing to lend a hand and get involved we'd love to have you join us! There's always something happening at NMP!

Nordic Fest is an annual event celebrating the Scandinavian heritage of the area. The downtown district comes alive with activities for the entire family over three days during the last full weekend in July.

Now in its 46th year, Nordic Fest offers activities, food and entertainment for the entire family. From Opening ceremonies on Thursday evening to the Grand Parade, Rock Throw and Lutefisk Eating Contest, the weekend is filled with something for everyone.
