Immigration Public Forum

June 16, 2026

6-7pm

Community Forum: Speak Up for the Separation Ordinance Iowa has the largest jail-to-deportation pipeline in the country. 85% of ICE arrests happen through local jails. Decorah can refuse to be a part of this system — but only if we show up. Join us to share your input directly with the Decorah Human Rights Commission on the proposed Separation Ordinance. This ordinance would limit local cooperation with ICE and protect immigrant community members. 📅 Tuesday, June 16 📍 City Hall Chambers The forum is hosted by the Decorah Human Rights Commission. This message is shared by Decorah Community for Immigrant Rights (DCIR). What to expect: A chance for community members to speak directly to the Human Rights Commission. Consider preparing a brief statement, or simply attend to learn, listen, and show your support. Learn more about DCIR and the proposed Separation Ordinance: 👉 https://www.decorahimmigrantrights.org/
