Monday, April 28th at 7 pm in the Decorah Senior Center,
Midge Kjome will present a program about the Life and Work of B. Anundsen. In the early 1860s the 20-year-old B. Anundsen came to America to seek his fortune. He had fulfilled his apprenticeship as a printer before leaving Norway and brought his skills and ambitions to Decorah, Iowa, where the new Luther College and the growing Norwegian population offered opportunities yet to be discovered. We will follow his life story of dedication to family and the building of a business that would grow and continue into the 21st Century through four generations of Anundsens. A gift from Eric Anundsen to the Decorah Genealogy Association of papers, photos, and many publications left after the business was sold provided material for researching the man and his accomplishments.
