Decorah Public Library and ArtHaus are holding two Coffee and Creativity programs next month. This series is designed to help build community while being creative. Participants can make simple craft projects while chatting over coffee from 10-11:30 AM on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The sessions will be led by ArtHaus instructors. Everyone is welcome to come make something, regardless of previous experience or artistic ability. On Tuesday, November 3, we’ll paper quill little paper gardens. Roll, pinch, and shape thin strips of paper into flowers, leaves, and simple designs. Participants can arrange their shapes into a seasonal composition. And on Tuesday, November 17 we’ll make paper mosaics. Use small pieces of colored paper to create a picture, pattern, or abstract composition. Provide simple templates of flowers, birds, landscapes, or geometric patterns. Participants fill the shapes with torn or cut paper, almost like creating a colorful stained-glass window. Both sessions will be in the library’s mezzanine. This program is free to the public and all materials are provided.
