Welcome Friends and Neighbors Picnic 2026, Sunday, September 13 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church All are invited to the 15th Welcome Friends and Neighbors Picnic at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 13, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. This free family-friendly picnic will be in the church’s Solar Courtyard and backyard at 701 Iowa Avenue in west Decorah. The gathering is an opportunity for the congregation to thank and celebrate its friends, neighbors, Luther College and Decorah. Enjoy good food, good conversation, and meet new friends.  Good Shepherd’s Solar Courtyard will provide shelter from sun or showers. In the event of heavy rain, the picnic will be in the Fellowship Hall. The picnic features a potluck, with all food provided by members of the congregation, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, as well as hot dogs and chips. All beverages, paper products, and silverware are provided. There will be music by Good Shepherd musicians, as well as games for kids. Just come, bring some friends, and your appetite! All facilities are ADA accessible. Good Shepherd is also the site of Kinderhaus preschool as well as a meeting place for community organizations and support groups.
