The River’s Edge Retreat

Come on down to the river where your cares drift away at the River's Edge Retreat, our vacation rental on the edge of the Mississippi in Lansing, Iowa.

The house has two different units that can either be rented separately or together as the whole house. Each unit sleeps 4 in beds with the whole house being able to sleep 8 in beds.

The house is furnished with both memory foam and pillow-top mattresses to meet everyone's preferences.

The River’s Edge Retreat also boasts a dock right on the property providing the perfect spot to hang out & fish. A dock slip is also available for rent during your stay pending availability. The slip is $25 per night.

The Eagles Nest Cabin

The Eagle’s Nest is a custom-built log cabin tucked in the woods of Northeast Iowa. Located in the countryside near the little village of Highlandville, Iowa. The cabin sits across from South Bear Creek that offers great trout fishing! As you sit on the covered deck, you can hear the streamflow. The Eagle’s Nest is the perfect gathering spot for families, fishermen or a friend’s get together. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and an additional loft and 2 bathrooms. The cabin provides sleeping arrangements for 8 in beds. The numerous bird feeders attract many feathered friends. The Eagle’s Nest is only minutes from Decorah and many destination restaurants and world-famous micro-breweries!

Empty Nest Winery is family owned and operated.  Set in beautiful rural Northeast Iowa located between Decorah and Waukon. 

We make handcrafted wines the old fashioned way by fermenting the whole berries/fruit not just the juice. 

Our berry wines are just the berries fermented not grape or apple based with just some berries or berry flavor added as many other wineries do. 

We make our wine in small batches using many varieties of berries handpicked predominantly on our family farm or from the surrounding local area. 

We never filter our wines as that can strip away their natural color and flavor so some bottles may have sediment on the bottom but that is completely natural and will not affect the amazing ?True to the Fruit Flavorâ?™! 

Sample up to 18 different & unique wines (click on ?Our Wines? page to see tasting notes) in our tasting room on Saturdays from 10-5 and Sundays from 1-5, Closed in January. 

Call ahead for private group tastings or large groups. We host private wine tastings and parties so call to book a time to come and taste our wine.

Our mission at Games XP is to bring joy to people’s lives through our products, people, and a place to play. Over the last decade we’ve developed a safe, enjoyable and really cool after school hang out spot for teenagers. But we’re not just for teens! All ages will love it here. We’ve expanded our floor space twice since 2010 and added a video game/ arcade room and a battle room for Magic The Gathering and Warhammer. Most of our store, though, is filled with video games, video game systems & accessories, movies and vinyl records. Currently we offer: Xbox One, 360 and original; PS1- PS4, Wii and WiiU, PC games, Game Cube, N64, Dreamcast, Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, Intellivision, and Atari games AND game systems. Just in town for the weekend? We still offer DVD rental (just like the old days) and used DVDs for purchase.  We also do internet sales on Amazon and Ebay (go to our website www.decorahgames.com for the link), so you can still shop with us even when you’re not in Decorah. And hang out in our gaming room for free! Loaded with couches and chairs, 7 TVs, 80's vintage arcade machines and pinball. There’s a rental fee for the use of the TVs, but otherwise it’s a fun, free place to just hang out!

Welcome to Decorah! Our Guesthouse offers a historic perspective on rural lodging. This is a large, recently renovated farmhouse built-in 1900. Located in the Driftless Region's Bluff County, this rural location offers lots of open space with epic farmscape views.

The Farm House has four cozy bedrooms, a kitchen, dining service for 10, wi-fi and printing, coffee and wine area, deck with picnic table and gas grill, and laundry facilities.

This is the original master bedroom. It is spacious, bright, and sunny. The view to the north has a huge sky, rolling hill, and the spire of the Glenwood Lutheran Church silhouettes the horizon. On a sunny day, this bright blue room extends into the sky. Apple Blossom Room: This warm and cozy room looks to the south and east. The fruit trees to the south bloom in the spring and bear fruit in the fall. They attract deer and numerous species of birds.

East-facing cedar trees and arborvitae offer privacy and protection from the elements in the winter. Extra blankets are in the walk-in closet. A cot and bedding for the cot are in the closet. Barn View Room: This cozy room looks west and south and has a large walk-in closet that is excellent for hanging formal ware. The Bunkhouse Room: This room was the original farmhouse living space. It is off the kitchen on the first floor. It has private exterior door access. It's a great room for kids or late arrivals.
